How to use it
Each draw combines a texture (with a link to its recipe), a color, an add-in and a theme to give your creation a name. With 8 textures, 15 colors, 12 add-ins and 16 themes, there are more than 23,000 combinations: enough to never make the same slime twice.
The generator doesn’t replace the recipe: it gives you the idea, and the recipe page gives you the amounts and the steps. To adjust the amounts to the size of your bowl, use the Slime Quantity Calculator.
Three tips to pull off a random idea
- Color: add it to the liquid glue, before the activator; one or two drops are enough for a pastel shade.
- Add-ins: glitter, confetti and beads also go into the liquid glue, or they fall out.
- Two twisted colors: make two separate small balls, then twist them together only three or four times to keep both shades.
Step by step, from idea to slime
- Get an idea: the card shows a name (the theme, then the color), followed by the texture, the color, the add-in and a little challenge, like “make it in under 15 minutes” or “use only two colors.”
- Open the recipe by tapping the name of the texture, and check the ingredient list before you get the bowl out.
- Swap what you don’t have: no heart confetti at home? Pick another add-in, or get a new idea. Chance makes the suggestion, but you’re the one who decides.
- Make it by following the recipe page; an adult pours the activator.
- Name your slime after the card, then check off the recipe in your logbook if it turned out well.
For example, you might get “Ocean in turquoise”: a clear slime, colored turquoise, with silver glitter, and the challenge “use only two colors.”
What the generator doesn’t do
- It puts things together at random: it doesn’t check that the add-in goes with the texture, or that you have the ingredient.
- It doesn’t save your ideas. A new draw replaces the card: write down the one you like, or take a screenshot.
- Its 8 textures are all glue slimes made with an activator. For younger kids, or to avoid boron, pick one of the no-glue recipes on the recipes page instead.
Want to make it a game?
Each player draws an idea and has 20 minutes to make it; the others guess the theme. Or take on the Daily Slime Challenge, the same for everyone, and keep track of your wins in the Slimer’s Logbook. All the texture names are explained in the glossary.
